Parking on the road below the Roaches is generally straightforward, with several roadside bays available and only a short walk in. It’s around a 10-minute, slightly uphill walk following the main path to the Don Whillans Memorial Hut, where the first boulders begin to appear. However, on weekends and sunny days it can become very busy, as the area is extremely popular with walkers. Arriving early is recommended. If roadside parking is full, it is usually possible to park in the field below the tea rooms for a small charge.
