Description

Without any doubt, La Basseta is the crag with the greatest grown in the region of L'Alcoià for the last couple of years, going from being an anecdotal local area to one of the references in terms of climbing initiation and easy routes throughout the northern part of the province. Located on the margins of the recreational area of the Font de l'Hortet del Pobre, very close to the Preventori, this place offers a quick access, comfortable belay and more than 90 itineraries of fifth and sixth grade with an average height of less than 20 meters.

History

Rubén Peidro and Javier Bayona were the first bolters of La Basseta. At the beginning of the 2010s, they opened the first 9 routes of the crag. Everything pointed out to an imminent expansion of the sector, especially after the timely contributions of "Telo", another of the local bolters in the area, but, surprisingly, this bolting stopped for the next 6 years. Finally, in 2017, Antonio Payá “Llargui”, one of the main contributors to bolting in the region, rediscovered its tremendous potential and begins bolting each and every one of its walls. In addition, he re-equips the 12 previous lines and conditions the area by cleaning it from weeds and creating comfortable belay points where you can even find benches made of stone and wood. Without any doubt, a hard work that will lead La Basseta to being one of the most visited crags in L'Alcoià.
