Viilarintie is a small urban crag with a few easier routes and 6 routes graded 7A or harder. There is still tons of potential for new routes at the original sector and the others near it. The ambiance at the crag isn't anything to write about due to it being very urban, but the quality of the routes and the ease of access makes visiting worth it. The few who have dared to visit have enjoyed the climbing, at least according to the stars & ticks.
Description
History
Viilarintie used to be the home turf of local legend Janne Otavaara in the mid-late 90's. Most of the routes were FA'd by him during this period. A notable exception is the route GhettoMake 7A, which was FA'd by the legendary Marko Siivinen in 2019.
2026 brought a new renaissance for the crag, with few local strongmen (Eero Moilanen, Juho Seppälä & Markus Sojakka) reviving the crag with sends for the harder climbs at the crag and a couple of new FA's by Sojakka.
