Despite its small size, Travata is undoubtedly one of the most interesting crags in the Val Sabbia area. The climbing here takes place on beautiful limestone characterized by large pockets. Routes generally start on vertical walls that gradually become more overhanging, requiring solid endurance—pump lovers, this is your place!
There are 14 routes in total (including two multi-pitch routes consisting of two pitches), with grades ranging from 5c to 7a. There is also an easier grade 4 route, but the majority of the lines fall between 6a+ and 6c, with lengths varying from 20 to 25 meters. Among the standout lines are Il Visconte, a two-pitch climb that requires at least an 80-meter rope if linked into a single pitch; La Serpe, the iconic symbolic route of the crag; and San Gottardo.
Both the approach and the base of the crag are very comfortable, making it a great destination for families and children. It is a highly popular spot on summer evenings, thanks to the evening shade and the refreshing breeze from the nearby river, but it is equally enjoyable on sunny mornings during the colder months. The bolting consists of excellent fix anchors and good bolts, though they are not always placed right next to each other. Bringing insect repellent can be quite useful.

It is also worth mentioning the highly anticipated annual event organized by Valsabbia Climbing, usually held in June: "Travata by Night." It is an evening of climbing that starts in the late afternoon and goes late into the night. The wall is illuminated by floodlights for night climbing, and the addition of beer, music, and food guarantees a lot of fun.

Nearby Activities: Beyond climbing, Val Sabbia offers beautiful natural landscapes and outdoor activities. You can enjoy a relaxing walk along the Chiese river or take a short drive to Lake Idro for a refreshing swim, kayaking, or hiking its scenic trails. The local villages also offer excellent opportunities to taste traditional Brescian cuisine in authentic local trattorias.

🇮🇹
