Description

For 32 years, this stunning, isolated sandstone block sat in oblivion—home to just two solitary routes bolted in 1994 by someone who likely lost their chalk bag and gave up. Despite an absurdly easy five-minute walk off the main path, even locals who have climbed everything hadn't bothered to check it out since Mandela took power.

Suddenly, developers armed with drills and reckless optimism remembered it existed. Today, those two vintage (and now re-bolted) relics sit alongside three shiny new sport routes. It went from forgotten to the area's newest mini-hotspot overnight—though the local spiders are furious about the sudden real estate boom.

History

The first routes at the crag were established in 1994 by Owen Keet and Anthony Scarpa. The sector underwent a major restoration in 2025–2026, featuring comprehensive re-bolting and the addition of several new lines.
