Hueco Tangen is located about 10 minutes south by car from the most popular bouldering area Stange. The area offers a mix of bouldering walls and freely scattered boulders, set in a quiet forest environment.
The approach is around a 15-20minute walk from the parking area, following forest paths that lead through woodland terrain. Once at the boulders, climbers will find a relatively untouched and less frequented area compared to Stangebleau or Krøllesteinen. Because of the lower traffic, many boulders are more affected by moss, and some landings are less developed and messy.
Several problems are quite high, so it is recommended to bring enough crash pads. Some landings, especially at Storeblokka, Diederblokka, and Brattblokka, may need improvement before climbing.
Due to its more remote and less visited character, Hueco Tangen offers a wilder bouldering experience with a sense of exploration, but also requires a bit more care and preparation from climbers.
