History

🇬🇧
⏪⌚The history of climbing at Tanarello Classico is closely connected to that of the entire valley and to the climbers who, over the years, have contributed to the discovery, bolting and development of its numerous crags.

As is often the case in this area, the same names appear throughout its history: Rocca, Galizzo, Lanteri, Pukli, Massari, Colombo and Bianchi. These climbers played a significant role in exploring and developing the cliffs, helping to transform these limestone formations into established climbing areas.

At a later stage, Pino and Canavese also contributed to the development of the area, continuing the work started by the early route developers and helping the crag grow.

The history of Tanarello Classico is therefore part of a much broader story: the development of climbing throughout the valley, shaped over time by the passion, dedication and hard work of a group of climbers whose names appear repeatedly from one sector to another. Through years of exploration, route cleaning and bolting, these individuals have written the history of climbing in the area.
