⛰️This area is made up of three main crags, each with its own character and slightly different height: Bun Ommu reaches around 30 metres, Suono about 25 metres, while Ultrasuono offers some of the longest lines in the area, with routes up to approximately 35 metres.
The climbing is generally demanding and is aimed mostly at experienced climbers, with a strong concentration of routes in the eighth grade. The style is often sustained and physical, requiring good endurance and solid technique, although the exact character of the climbing changes from one sector to another. Overall, this is not an area for beginners, but rather a destination for those looking for high-quality and challenging sport climbing.
The rock is excellent limestone, compact and pleasant to climb on, with generally good friction and interesting features. The bolting is good throughout the area, and the bases of the walls are mostly comfortable, making the sectors suitable for spending a full day at the crag.
The approaches are quite similar for all three sectors and take approximately 20 minutes. They are never excessively long, making access relatively straightforward despite the more secluded feeling of the area.
One of the main advantages of these crags is their predominantly south-facing exposure. This provides plenty of sun and creates a mild and pleasant microclimate, especially during the colder months. For this reason, the area is particularly suitable for autumn, winter and early spring, and on sunny winter days conditions can be excellent.
Overall, Bun Ommu, Suono and Ultrasuono form a compact but very interesting climbing area, with good rock, well-equipped routes, comfortable bases and a strong selection of hard climbing. For climbers operating in the upper grades, it is one of the most rewarding areas of the valley, especially when colder temperatures make other sectors less appealing.
🇮🇹
