Sanomala is a small city crag that consists of two sectors: the main sector and Pikku Kakkonen. The main rock is quite tall, with a rock type of orbicular granite (same as Burden of Dreams!). It has two tall faces that you can climb on, as well as a smaller broken of piece which also has a couple routes. Landings are good, except for three of the routes on the sector. You can survive with a single pad, but more are recommended for the sketchy few. The main rock is pretty well shaded by the surrounding trees.
Pikku Kakkonen is, as the name suggests, quite small. It is around 1.8 m. Do not let this fool you, despite their short stature, the routes on this one pack quite a punch! Most moves are quite physical and top outs very technical mantles. Here you can manage well with a single pad, unless you want to climb the traverses on this rock alone. The sector is slightly more exposed to the sun than the other one, but still has some shade. The rock type is not the same, but some pretty basic (and quite rough!) granite.
As the routes at the crag were climbed ~2012, most of the grades feel sandbagged, so keep that in mind before you start hating yourself for not flashing the grade 5s and 6A's.
