Description

This quietly popular sector has a mix of wall climbing with overhanging routes in the big cave

The beautiful chapel of St. Photis is set against the cliff face overlooking Kantouni bay across to the south face of Telendos. The climbing has been recently developed to include the wall up and left of the Chapel, with a number of good quality wall climbs that are still in need of traffic to calm the sometimes sharp edges! The upper cave has seen some new additions with the right hand wall now also featuring plenty of routes. Further right again the projects keep coming on Spiders Wall (the clue is in the name).

You can take the bus or drive to the Beach of Kantouni where the track begins.
Take the path from the beach that leads below the church and continue for about 150m until the path diverges. Ignore the left turn for Austrians and keep walking around to the right following the red paint marks in the direction of St Photis. After ~20mins the path splits left for Monastery and straight on for St. Photis. Pass though a gap in the stone wall after another 10mins and the Church is in front of you. Chapel View is up and to the left, Chapel Wall straight ahead, Upper Cave and Cave Wall around the chapel and left uphill. For Spiders continue straight past the chapel.

Park at the beach in Kantouni on the left hand side by the concrete ramp.
