Floda is a crag that has been known for a long time, but where development was slowed due to unclear circumstances involving the landowner (Lerum Municipality). Today, the local climbing club, Lerums KK, has an agreement with the municipality regarding the development of the crag, which has allowed new routes to be established.
The crag in Floda is roughly 200 metres wide and 10–15 metres high, with the potential for many fine routes.
Environment:
The crag faces south‑east/south and receives sun for most of the day. The many large trees in front of the rock shade both the belayer and the lower part of the crag. The rock dries slowly and is not a typical spring crag, with a lot of water running down from the top. Routes may feel somewhat dirty or earthy despite thorough cleaning, due to soil washing down from above.
Climbing:
The crag is between 10 and 15 metres high and offers climbing in most angles, with steep slab/vertical climbing as the dominant style. There are both bolted and traditionally protected routes. Most routes are equipped with lower‑off anchors.
