Description

Kvitsandneset is a granite bouldering area on Tjeldøya, a short distance from Ramsund. It’s a coastal Arctic spot with a few good scattered boulders.

The rock is solid granite with typical features like cracks, edges and slabs.

Conditions are strongly seasonal. Cool temperatures often give the best friction, especially in spring and autumn, while summer can be mild with long daylight hours. Weather changes quickly due to the coastal location, so conditions can vary from day to day.

It’s suited for short sessions or stopping by while travelling through the area, or for warming up for the more visited crag at Myklebostad.

Overall, Kvitsandneset is a classic granite bouldering area, with practical access and some technical climbing.

History

Development started in 2012 by Frode R. Corneliussen who established three lines on two different boulders. Martin Andreas Paulsen continued developing the area in 2026, and updating the boulders to their correct location, and adding several lines.
