Panoramic crag, divided into two adjacent sectors, located in a very convenient spot just a stone’s throw from the Pecetto parking lots.
Ideal for those on vacation in Macugnaga who want to alternate hiking and other outdoor activities with a few hours of completely relaxing climbing.
There are numerous easy routes for beginners and children, some of which feature artificial gym holds for basic instruction.
The more difficult routes, grade 6, are by no means straightforward; in fact, they are quite challenging and demanding, both in terms of style—which often requires good technique on slabs and small holds—and in terms of grading, which offers very few concessions.
Although the predominant style is, in fact, slab climbing, there are also short sections that are more strength-oriented and athletic, requiring climbers to overcome brief overhangs.
Although the south face, given the elevation and the generally cool climate of the area, climbing here tends to take place in the summer (and during the shoulder seasons, taking care to watch for weather and temperatures that can get quite cold), perhaps avoiding the hottest hours or days.
