We have had some access issues to Gjuteriet - the farmers don’t receive government funding to maintain the roads, and they’ve expressed concerns, threatening to raise a boom-gate. In order to maintain a healthy relationship, we therefore encourage visitors to swish Christer upon visitation so we can keep enjoying this natural gift.
📜The first boulders were found south of Myrhult in 2020 by Dexter and Henric Bjuvéus. Back then, the forest was dense and the few blocks that were found were not worth clearing as they "were so few and quite small".
2024 - Having never met Henric, Storm searches the area independently, following discovery of nearby Sätra Bruk. He is defeated by the mires, dense forest and insects.
A couple of months later - Henric & Storm meet in The Meadows.
2025 - large portions of the dense forest are felled. Henric, on his way down to the fine bouldering area, Sätra Bruk, drives down the dirt road and notices a giant block at the bottom of a new clearing: "Myrhultsblocket", which is the finest in the Myrhult sector. Shortly thereafter he found Högsåsblocket. Driven by determination on a rainy summer day, he later stumbled upon so far the finest area in Velen; Gjuteriet!
Storm Ferreira, who has developed a sick (sjukt) amount of bouldering in the region surrounding Karlsborg, joined in and started to establish problems.
We have the landowner's permission to climb in the Myrhult area, but be careful not to step on the newly planted tree seedlings. Don't miss taking a detour southeast to the bouldering areas Sätra Bruk, The Meadows and many, many others. An incredible amount of bouldering on fine quality stone within 30 minutes (developed by the super duo Storm Ferraira and Gustav Rautatammi).
