🚗 Arrival
From La Spezia, take the road towards Lerici and then follow the signs for Montemarcello. After passing through Zanego, look for a large open space on the left side of the road with signs for Località Le Figarole. Continue driving for about 1.7 km down a series of hairpin bends. Find a road starting on the right and park here (about 15 km from La Spezia), right after the "Benvenuti a Monte Marcello" (Welcome to Monte Marcello) sign.
🚶♂️ Sector
From the parking area, take the dirt road that leads to a house after about 100 meters. Many older guidebooks suggest walking along the wall of the house to bypass it, but this path is no longer accessible as it has been closed off with additional fencing.
Instead, take the well-marked trail heading East. After a few dozen meters, trail 444 branches off downhill towards "Tellaro." Take this trail and, following a series of ups and downs for about 4-5 minutes, you will reach a small gate directly behind the house. Continue for another 20 meters, then leave the main trail for a smaller track on the left. This steep path, equipped with fixed ropes, leads directly to the Montemarcello Alto sector. From here, a short via ferrata takes you down to the Montemarcello Basso sector.
