The Cerra area likely represents one of the greatest undeveloped bouldering potentials in Italy. It is an incredibly vast zone where the visible boulders seem endless — massive granite fields hidden throughout the forest, stretching far beyond what has currently been developed. Even after years of exploration, the feeling is that the area never truly ends.

This is undoubtedly one of the most family-friendly bouldering areas around Serra, particularly well suited for climbers with children. The area is relatively small, with a limited number of boulders, but it is extremely pleasant thanks to its peaceful setting in a wide open meadow, making it an ideal place to spend a relaxed day outdoors.

The existing problems are generally not very difficult, although there is still some potential for new first ascents and the development of additional lines. The approach itself adds to the charm of the area: a short walk through grassy fields and grazing land, often among cows, makes the experience especially enjoyable.

Shade is limited during hot days, but the area remains climbable and enjoyable throughout much of the year. The rock quality is excellent, offering enjoyable movement and solid features. Most boulders are relatively low, and the landings are generally flat, clean, and safe.

Overall, a single crash pad is enough for virtually every problem in the area, making it a perfect destination for beginners, families, or anyone looking for a relaxed day of bouldering without logistical complications.

La Cerra rappresenta probabilmente uno dei più grandi potenziali ancora inespresso del bouldering italiano. Si tratta di una zona incredibilmente vasta, dove i blocchi sembrano non finire mai: enormi distese di granito sparse nel bosco, con settori che continuano ad apparire ovunque ci si addentri. Anche dopo anni di esplorazione, la sensazione è quella di trovarsi davanti a qualcosa di praticamente infinito.

Sicuramente una delle aree boulder nei dintorni della Serra più adatte alle famiglie e, in particolare, a chi arrampica con bambini. Si tratta di una zona raccolta, con un numero limitato di blocchi, ma estremamente piacevole grazie all’ambiente aperto e rilassante in cui è inserita: un ampio prato che la rende ideale per trascorrere una giornata tranquilla all’aria aperta.

I problemi presenti non sono particolarmente difficili, ma rimane ancora qualche possibilità di individuare e liberare nuove linee. Anche l’avvicinamento contribuisce al fascino del luogo: una breve passeggiata tra prati e pascoli, spesso in compagnia delle mucche al pascolo, rende l’esperienza particolarmente gradevole.

Nelle giornate più calde l’ombra non è abbondante, ma il settore resta comunque frequentabile e scalabile. La qualità della roccia è molto elevata, con prese e movimenti piacevoli. I blocchi hanno generalmente un’altezza contenuta e le basi sono quasi sempre pulite, pianeggianti e sicure.

Nel complesso, con un solo crash pad è possibile affrontare praticamente tutti i problemi presenti, rendendo la zona perfetta sia per principianti sia per chi cerca una giornata di arrampicata senza particolari complicazioni logistiche.

⏪⌚La Cerra was discovered around 2013 thanks to scouting carried out by La Sportiva
, which brought several boulders to light, cleaned a number of trails, and sparked what would later become the development of the area. From that moment on, the zone slowly began attracting the attention of climbers and explorers because of the quality of the rock and the huge potential hidden throughout the forest.

The development of La Cerra then continued thanks to the work of a group of dedicated climbers — including Iva, Felix, Martin, Elisa, and Flo — who invested a significant amount of time cleaning boulders, opening new lines, and improving access paths. The contribution of the Stuntwerk
team should also be highlighted, as they played an important role in supporting and expanding the area’s development.

Later, in 2026, Mikael Treppo moved to the agriturismo and gradually began documenting most of the climbed boulders while also contributing to the opening of new lines and sectors. Despite the work completed so far, La Cerra still holds enormous untapped potential: it is estimated that more than 90% of the area remains unexplored or undeveloped.

⏪⌚La Cerra, è stata scoperta intorno al 2013 grazie allo scouting effettuato da La Sportiva, che ha portato alla luce diversi blocchi, ripulito alcuni sentieri e dato il via a quello che, negli anni successivi, sarebbe diventato un vero e proprio sviluppo dell’area boulder. Da quel momento la zona ha iniziato lentamente ad attirare l’interesse di climber ed esploratori, grazie al grande potenziale del bosco e alla qualità della roccia presente.

Lo sviluppo della Cerra è poi proseguito grazie al lavoro di un gruppo di ragazzi — tra cui Iva, Felix, Martin, Elisa e Flo — che hanno dedicato tempo ed energie alla pulizia dei blocchi, all’apertura di nuove linee e alla sistemazione di accessi e sentieri. Va sottolineato anche il contributo del team Stuntwerk
, che ha partecipato attivamente alla valorizzazione della zona.

Successivamente, nel 2026, Mikael Treppo si è stabilito presso l’agriturismo e, poco alla volta, ha iniziato a recensire gran parte dei blocchi già scalati, oltre a contribuire alla liberazione di nuove linee e settori. Nonostante il lavoro svolto fino a oggi, il potenziale della Cerra è ancora enorme: si stima infatti che oltre il 90% dell’area sia tuttora inesplorato o non ancora sviluppato.
