Description

Hynkeberget is a small crag with four sectors. Ydinjengi, Pitti and The Wall are the ones worth visiting. Ydinjengi is in good condition due to the overhanging nature of the cliff face, but the other sectors are quite mossy and require a lot of brushing before being climbable. Be prepared, if those have routes you want to climb.

The rock quality is pretty sharp, but the climbing is worth it. The approach is not short, remember to read the part on access. Most of the sectors are quite shaded due to the surrounding forest. Be sure to take multiple pads, especially if you climb at Ydinjengi or Pitti.

History

The crag was discovered in 2014. Most routes were climbed between 2014 and -15, with some routes being added later. Heres a list of some of the people that have been FA:ing here: Andreas Gasic, Mikael Uponen, Juntti Assis, Olli Antikainen & Samuli Sinisalo.

Access is sensitive!

Only use the public parking place. Driving along Kaitakorventie is strictly prohibited. The walk to the sectors takes about 15-20 minutes.

It is suggested that you walk along the forested path and avoid using Kaitakorventie. The stables have a gate, which might be closed, in which case you are out of luck and have to walk all the way back to the parking and go the other way around. Thus, if you want to be sure that you will reach the crag on your first go, go along the forest path.

When I was updating the topo, I could not for the life of me find the "Upper Wall" sector. I was bushwhacking for around 1.5 hrs in the area, but no luck. If you do happen to come across it, leave a comment with the exact coordinates and it will be updated.
