No special access issues
Sometimes the rock of Guadalest presents a certain fragility, especially when it is wet, so it is strongly recommended to always use the helmet and not climb it after the rain. The parking areas indicated here must be thorougly respected, taking into account the following considerations: You can park for free in the refuge while there is still free space, with the priority of the vehicles of the people staying there. It is recommended to access the area by the road that leads to the swamp, since access from the town has a very sharp and steep curve in which motorhomes and large vans will have serious problems to pass through. It is totally forbidden to spend the night in the area (parkings included) with the exception of the paid parking of the town, the refuge of climbers and the rest of the private accommodations.
How to get to the parking area:
From the AP-7 take exit 65 N-332 Benidorm (Levante)/Callosa d’en Sarrià (if we travel from the south) or exit 65 N-332 Benidorm (Levante) (if we do it from the north). After the tollbooth, take the first exit on the right towards CV-70 La Nucía/Callosa and follow these indications for 7 km. Just before entering the urban area of La Nucía, you will arrive to Rotonda 1, easily identifiable by the two yellow brushes that adorn its inside, and take its 3rd exit towards CV-70 Benimantell/El Castell de Guadalest/Alcoi. Follow the indications towards Guadalest for 12.6 km until you arrive at the west entrance of the town, ending at CV-755. Then turn to the right to cross the town (the paid parking is just to the left) and after 260 meters, where the houses end, take the turn on the left by La Era street (only with cars), which will take you directly to the different car parks (the first one 400 meters ahead). If you travel with motorhomes or large vans, turn right at the west entrance of the town follow the CV-755 for 1.8 km. In front of the Els Botijons bar, turn left towards ´presa de Guadalest´ (dam). After 1 km, turn left again and after 300 meters you will arribe at the climbers´ refugee, just at the foothills of the Peña Maura.
Approach:
All parking lots are virtually stuck to the climbing crags, to the approach to them is quite obvious.
