Description

Grauwand offers 38 different routes in perfect limestone. The place in the middle of the Rofan is really beautiful and you have nice views arround the whole area and mountains.
The routes are in the difficulty range between 5c and 8a. All the routes are rebolted since summer 2021. The crag is south-westfacing at 1600m above sealevel.
The vertical, slightly overhanging wall requiers a solid climbing technic. The routes are up to 30m high. Best time to go there is from May to October.

History

This Sector was one of the first climbing areas in Rofan. Hannes Salvenmoser und Otto Oelze bolted the routes in summer 1999. In summer 2021 all routes were rebolted to make climbing at Grauwand much more safe and more enjoyable.
