Description

Franchard Raymond
Some have heard of this small quite dense area. Mostly because of a 5-star problem called Futebol! This is just one of the great reasons to visit this area. You can find everything from beautiful slabs to roof climbs and huge dynos in this area.
The approach to the area is very easy. Stick to the big path until you see the area on the right and walk up using one of the many existing paths. Futebol faces towards the path and is very visible.
The approach with a stroller is good until you reach the area. In the area itself a stroller won't work.

There are for sure some unrevealed classics still waiting for first ascents around this area. You can see big blocks with potential here and there.

On top of the hill you can find coverage for your phone but not everywhere, so it's recommended to download the area for offline use.

It's usually very quiet around this area even during busy days and it's easy to combine with some climbing in the also very quiet area of Frachard Ermitage.

Franchard Raymond

Climbing has been limited!

Fontainebleau closed until July 20
Due to fire risk and dry forest conditions, ONF has closed all of Fontainebleau to the public until Monday, July 20, 6:00 AM. Parking lots and access roads are barrier-taped to keep them clear for emergency services.
Please stay out until the closure lifts — check back here for updates.

Park as shown on map on the parking of Gorges du houx / Franchard Raymond and take the big path Routes des gorges de Franchard towards the west. The first boulders are visible from the path after around 600 meters and the biggest cluster will be visible after about 200m more. The approach is very easy for most of the boulders.
