Description

Franchard Ermitage is basically 3 areas all in one.
Franchard Ermitage, Franchard Druides and Cuisinière Carnage. All areas kind of blend together.
The area features no circuits (except maybe one for the kids?)
And the majority of the lines are single, obvious and sometimes world class test pieces of their grade. Because the area is a quite big surface, you have both super shady caves that might stay wet for a long time and you have sunny problems that dry within minutes after the rain. The approach can be done from the west or from the east, depending on what problems you're most eager to try. Basically both ways it's no more than a 15 minutes walk in. Walking in from the west takes you next to Cuisiniére and walking in from the east takes you next to Raymond.

The area is child friendly but the approach is usually not good for a trolley. Usually very quiet even during busy times. The reception varies from very good to almost nothing, so downloading the guide for offline use is recommendable.

Climbing has been limited!

Fontainebleau closed until July 20
Due to fire risk and dry forest conditions, ONF has closed all of Fontainebleau to the public until Monday, July 20, 6:00 AM. Parking lots and access roads are barrier-taped to keep them clear for emergency services.
Please stay out until the closure lifts — check back here for updates.

Park either at Isatis or in the east at either of the two parkings of Gorge du houx. The approach is an easy 15 minutes walk in. Follow the big main paths and try to find a smaller path in for the boulder you are seeking. Most more climbed boulders have some kind of path in.
