Description

Sector: Esfoladela Terrestre (Gardunha)

Easy access sector with parking right next to the boulders.

A steep and powerful area, mostly overhanging, with short but intense problems on sharp granite. The sector is often exposed to wind, which helps with friction but can be tough on the skin.

Expect powerful moves, strong tension, and technical footwork on abrasive rock.

🧗 Climbing Style & Rock:
The sector features high-quality granite, known for its friction and technical demands. Expect a mix of precise footwork, small holds, and dynamic sequences on vertical to slightly overhanging terrain.

Safety & Conditions:
Due to uneven landings, the use of multiple crashpads and proper spotting is strongly recommended. Conditions can vary significantly, with higher humidity during winter months. Optimal climbing conditions are typically found in cooler, drier periods.

Good Practice:
Use appropriate brushes (soft bristles) to preserve the rock surface and minimize impact. Avoid excessive chalk use and clean holds after climbing.

History

This sector began being explored around 2016, through multiple trips to the area to understand its potential. Most of the lines required time and effort to clean and develop, with some problems taking longer to fully establish due to the nature of the rock and surroundings.
