Description

Buthiers tennis 🎾 is a small compact area with some classic problems and a world known traverse called Coccinelle🐞 7C+/8A. Approach is about 20 seconds, so that should not be an issue. Because it's somehow still seldom visited some problems have already been re-brushed and some got mossy and forgotten. This is weird, because the area have a bunch of good problems in all grades.
There is only one circuit, the red TD 🔴, but man, this one has some gems on it, try L'Épaule, L'Éminence Grise and Chien Perdu for example.
For the stronger climbers you can find problems up to 8A and there are several classic routes like Flagrand Desir, La ligne Blanche and Trojan War just to mention a few.

The area can be seen as extremely family friendly and hang around friendly. Just have a look when crossing the street and as soon as that 30m approach is done, you are surrounded by big boulders, in many cases with sandy nice landings and even Picnic 🧺 tables and trash bins just next to you.

Climbing has been limited!

Fontainebleau closed until July 20
Due to fire risk and dry forest conditions, ONF has closed all of Fontainebleau to the public until Monday, July 20, 6:00 AM. Parking lots and access roads are barrier-taped to keep them clear for emergency services.
Please stay out until the closure lifts — check back here for updates.

🅿️ at the big parking of Buthiers for most part of the area. For the part closer to trojan war one could also park at the tarmac parking before the other one. Which ever parking you chose, the approach by walking will not be more than 1..2 minutes.

From the big parking in middle of Buthiers tennis and Piscine, literally you could throw a stone to the first boulder. Approach to this one will be around 30s.
